Smoker’s lung cancer blamed on asbestos exposure

December 10th, 2007 · No Comments

The A.O. Smith Corporation can add another name to the list of people suing them for asbestos exposure by using their products. Willie Scott is suing a variety of corporations that he believes is responsible for his lung cancer. The list of corporations includes Lockheed Martin and Zurn Industries, who Scott is suing for manufacturing asbestos contaminated products. Scott’s medical records allude to a history of asbestos exposure during the years that he worked for the Texaco reginery (1952-1983).

At 71 years of age, Scott is a lung cancer patient who has been a cigarette smoker for a majority of his life. He claims that the companies on his list were negligent to properly test their products for asbestos before releasing them into the market.

Scott is suing for mental anguish, lost wages, loss of earning capacity, medical expenses, physical impairment and disfigurement.
