Firms Fined Over Drawstrings

Eight firms have been fined $320,000 for manufacturing and selling children’s clothing that had dangerous drawstrings. The use fo drawstrings in children’s clothing has been banned for quite some time after the Consumer Products Safety Commission decided that the loose strings posed a stranguation hazard.

Woman dies from asbestos exposure after years of doing husband’s laundry

Manufacturer and store sued over a defective model airplane injury

A hobby store and manufacturer are being sued after a man is injured while constructing a model airplane. Paul Moore was constructing a Great Planes model airplane, purchased at Tower Hobbies, when the spinner wire broke loose and pierced his abdomen. This in-turn punctured his gall bladder.

Toy manufacturer brought to court in wrongful death suit

Stephen Tetlow has filed a lawsuit against Hasbro, Inc., after his infant son choked on a toy and died. The toy was a PlaySkool Cool Crew Team Talkin Tool Bench which includes a toy hammer, saw, drill, screwdriver, plastic nails and screws, and a vice.
